Our Wonder Kitten

 Wonder is a four month old neutered male Tabby kitten that has the look of the popular Main Coon. He has been in our network for several months waiting to become a candidate for eyelid reconstructive surgery. This necessary operation will be performed by The Eye Care for Animals in Tustin and will correct the missing portion of Wonder’s  eyelids by building an upper lid that would eliminate the lashes rubbing on his corneas that currently create discomfort and irritation that would ultimately cause scarring and lead to blindness. Your donations are needed to cover Wonder’s necessary fourteen-hundred ($1400.00) surgery to eliminate his discomfort and save his vision

Your donated dollars have already helped two other cats this Fall with the same genetic in utero defect. Six year old Sierra has been adopted and her pet-parent reports a remarkable difference even in her personality once relieved of the pain but unfortunately has loss all site in one eye. The three year old Black cat named Jet is still waiting for a new home and has successfully undergone his eyelid reconstruction with your help.

Corrine Holtz called Community Animal Network after the frightened and beat up gentle three year old Black cat named Jet was trapped with a can of tuna fish. His bloody body was found with his eyes oozing from infection caused by a cat fight and his eyelashes to rubbing on his corneas (“Ouch”). Jet would not have survived on the street if he slowly went blind without surgical treatment.  

Eyelid reconstruction is one of the most common surgeries that Community Animal Network performs on cats that cause them to go blind.

"We are in desperate need of a home together. The sweetest of the litter. Never could get enough to eat because she would get sick after eating. We discovered why... A congenital birth defect called a "mega esophagus" The esophagus sphincter won't close normally causing the food to not stay down.  There is no cure or surgery. 

She had a Private Cremation by "Only Cremations" of Newport Beach.
